The time has finally come where the summer wraps up and the children return to school. This summer and back to school have obviously been different but nevertheless, we have overcome and made the best of it! We are happy the boys enjoyed the summer and quite frankly I am happy they are returning to school (LOL, mom joke!).
Honestly though I have to say, our time spent in Covid actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise! In some ways, it felt like the time slowed down and we enjoyed so much more as a family but at the same time it turned out the busiest time for us in terms of real estate transactions. What a ride! And all the while, our boys grew, became more independent and developed a closer relationship with each other and their cousins. What a blessing!
This past August was also extra special for our family as Dave and his twin brother turned 50 years old! That’s a HUGE milestone year and although I was quite worried, we were able to pull off an awesome outdoor party with our closest family and friends. It was so much fun, I wish I could do it again, ha!
On the real estate front, I am happy to report we received approval on our minor variance application for our sixplex. We had 4 minor variances in total which had to be presented and justified to the Committee of Adjustments. This is only one approval, but we are well on our way to receive our building close approval as well. Once all approvals are in, we’ll be able to construct this beautiful three storey six-unit apartment. So looking forward to that!
I’d like to say thank you to all of you who reply to my ezine. I love to hear from you and also see how you are doing.
Stay happy and healthy my friends!!
Real Estate Leverage
Investing in real estate has become a popular way to diversify your investment portfolio. Everywhere we look, we’re constantly reminded of the benefits of buying property, from the many infomercials about real estate seminars, or the home shows that tote the incredible value of managing or flipping rental properties.
But it isn’t that easy. After all, buying a rental property isn’t like investing in stocks—you can’t just put down a little here and there and become a property owner. You need capital to make that purchase. And the process can often be long and drawn out. Not to mention all the risks involved, especially if you don’t do your research. But is there a way to get into the market by increasing your net worth? Try using leverage to your advantage. By doing this, you can put little to no money down, and use debt to help you realize a return.
